Microblading Procedure Overview
What is microblading?
Microblading is the hottest new trend in eyebrow enhancement. Also known as 3D brows, the process is a newly emerging method to fully reconstruct eyebrows by manually depositing pigment under the epidermal layer of the skin using a hand held tool.
Unlike permanent makeup treatments such as a tattooing which leaves you with a dense unnatural look, the microblading technique involves drawing individual, crisp hair strokes. The microblading tool uses 10 - 12 micro needles that are several times thinner than the needle used for tattoos. The extremely fine strokes blend with your existing hair resulting in a full and completely natural looking eyebrow.
Once the Microblading is fully healed, it is very low maintenance. Unlike eyebrow extensions that require meticulous maintaining, the semi-permanent quality of microblading is hassle free. You can rub your brows, wash your face, and even enjoy water sports. You can wake up every morning with perfect eyebrows!
Who microblading is for
Microblading is perfect for anyone who wants to fully reconstruct, define, cover any gaps, or just fill in over plucked brows. It doesn't matter if you like your brows straight and bold or arched and feathered. Your eyebrows are the most important facial feature. During your appointment, I will shape and style your brows to meet your exact specifications.
microblading procedure timing
The entire microblading procedure lasts about 1.5-2 hours.
The first part involves facial measurement and drawing of the eyebrow shape with a removable marker. This is the most important step where we will work closely to perfect the ideal set of brows for your face. With the structure of the brows defined, I will then meticulously draw each stroke to give you your desired look. Before the Microblading begins, a numbing cream is applied and reapplied throughout the procedure to make the process as comfortable as possible.
It takes approximately 7-14 days for the brows to heal over and about 1 month for the color to fully set in. After 6 weeks, a touch up session is necessary as everyone heals differently and the outcome will vary.
Microblading typically lasts 1-3 years depending on skin type and skincare routine. To maintain fresh looking brows, a touch up is suggested every 12-18 months.
